Today in Connections Corner, we’re introducing MESMER Engineering, an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and O&M (Operation and Maintenance) company specialised in water sector, based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and one of EPSE’s valued connections in Central Asia. Founded in 2003, MESMER has grown into a company covering the full project lifecycle — design, equipment supply, construction, and O&M — with a particular focus on the water and wastewater treatment sectors. Over more than two decades, the company has brought together a team of qualified engineers and specialists with deep practical experience delivering complex infrastructure projects across the region. MESMER’s ambitions extend beyond Uzbekistan’s borders, as the company builds long-term partnerships with clients and technology providers worldwide. It’s exactly this outlook that makes the connection with EPSE a natural one.
Part of EPSE’s partner strategy
In a global operating environment, EPSE doesn’t even dream of being able to carry out all its projects from start to finish on its own. The team is small and geographically dispersed. EPSE’s strategy has long focused on finding local partners and implementing projects in collaboration with local stakeholders. When searching for local partners, the networks of employees, customers, and business partners are invaluable, and the trust required for effective collaboration is built gradually.
Comprehensive Water & Wastewater Capabilities
Water and wastewater work sits at the core of MESMER’s expertise. The company has applied its technological know-how across drinking water purification, sewage systems, water supply networks, irrigation, and working to bring international engineering standards to fast-developing markets. This breadth — spanning everything from treatment plant design to the procurement and installation of specialized equipment — allows MESMER to act as a single, accountable partner for clients navigating projects that would otherwise require coordinating multiple contractors.
Stronger together
Looking ahead, MESMER and EPSE are exploring a partnership built on each company’s core strengths: EPSE as the technology provider, supplying its patented wastewater treatment chemicals, and MESMER as the EPC and O&M contractor, handling engineering, procurement, construction and O&M on the ground. Together, the two companies aim to bring efficient, high-performance wastewater solutions to industrial clients in the region.
