Vesa has more than 30 years of experience in the development of hydrometallurgical and chemical solutions and their application in separating harmful metals from industrial and mining wastewaters. The result of this extensive research and development work are EPSE’s patents, which solve the environmental problems caused by heavy metals and other metals in a sustainable way.

Felix is in charge of EPSE’s international operations. He has 25 years of experience in international business with multinational industrial and engineering companies, and he has worked in several leadership positions involving management, international trade and marketing, strategic planning and business development. Over the past few years, he has worked in the field of start-up technology companies in the Baltic countries, Poland, Russia and other CIS countries, and introduced manufacturing and sub-contracting operations to markets in South Korea and China.

Ilpo has worked on water chemistry as well as industrial and power plant processes for more than 25 years, and he is also particularly well versed in commercialisation. Ilpo is specialised in the successful commencement of new business operations and has business experience in the Baltic countries, Poland and Russia, in addition to Finland.

Jon has more than 15 years of experience in financial management, most recently as the owner and managing director of an accounting office employing 25 people and as the CEO of a consulting firm specialised in mergers and acquisitions.

Mikko has more than 20 years of experience in EU and other public funding as well as project operations. Mikko has also been a member of the University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology’s joint International Centre for Environmental Services Governance Research (ICES) since 2006.
Kari has solid experience of leading subcontracts in the engineering sector, power plant and paper industry investments and maintenance projects, as well as more than 20 years of entrepreneurship in the field of technology.

Svetlina has a degree in bioproduct and process engineering from the Tampere University of Applied Sciences. She has four years of experience in the chemicals sector and lab work. She is specialised in the analysis of domestic water and wastewater and is familiar with various water purification processes.
Minna has a Master’s degree in analytical and inorganic chemistry (University of Jyväskylä) and she has worked in the field of chemistry for several years. In her latest position she worked for three years in an environmental analysis laboratory in Iceland.

Yi obtained his MBA Degree in Finland and has over 15 years of experience in commercialisation, international business, sales and management. He has lived and worked in Finland for 22 years, of which 6.5 years working partly in China. Yi is specialized in China business operations, such as market entry and sustainable growth. He is familiar with Chinese market and Finland-China cross country business operations and policies.

Riikka is an environmental scientist who has approximately 15 years of experience of working with environmental issues, both in private and public sectors. Last years she has been working in Sweden with quarries, logistics & transports, quality and environmenatal managment systems and as project leader for strategic enviromental plans. Her strengths inculde also recycling, circular economy and contacts with authorities.
Veera is a laboratory technician with more than 10 years’ experience from laboratory work varying from neuropathology to treatment of industrial process waters. She has also worked with environmental analytics and with tests of products from metal industry. Veera is familiar with, among others, ICP-OES, XRF- and IR-equipment.

Timo has several decades of experience in management and strategic development in Finnish and international electrical industry as, for instance, the CEO of Pohjolan Voima and chair of the Board of Directors of Teollisuuden Voima.

Juha has several decades of experience in executive management positions in the Finnish and the international forest industry, including as the CEO of the listed company UPM-Kymmene. He has also worked as chair of the Finnish Forest Industries Federation and the Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI). He has the Finnish honorary title of vuorineuvos and holds an M.Sc. in economics. He is also a Doctor of Sciences in Economics and Technology h.c. at the universities of Turku and Lappeenranta.

Matti has more than 30 years of experience in executive roles at leading mining technology provider Outotec. He has headed Outotec’s business in a number of countries, most recently for more than a decade in Canada. He provides a significant contribution to the maintenance of international relations and contacts.
Advisor (commercialisation and internationalisation)
Lasse has more than 30 years of experience in executive roles in the international ICT industry, financial sector and start-up technology companies. He has served in various leadership roles involving general management, strategic development, funding, international marketing and the management of strategic partnerships. He is the former CEO of REACHLaw, who developed the company into a global operator providing regulatory services in the chemical industry. He played a key role at REACHLaw when it received the Internationalisation Award of the President of Finland in 2010. Before that, he worked as the deputy CEO of the Helsinki Stock Exchange and as a member of its Board of Directors for a period of several years.
Kristiina is the founder of Selen Law, a law firm specialised in the energy sector, corporate law, contracts and corporate law, and works as EPSE’s legal advisor in legal and contractual matters. She is an internationally recognised professional in her field and has been ranked by Chambers and Partners in the Energy and Environment class in 2017 and 2018.
