Get to know our team: Laboratory Manager

Today we are celebrating World Laboratory Day, and in honor of this special day we want to publish a personal profile of our Laboratory Manager, Salla Heinonen. World Laboratory Day celebrates those who work in the laboratory doing research work and different experiments. EPSE wouldn’t be EPSE without our professional Laboratory Team or its manager Ms. Heinonen. We appreciate what they do every day!

  • Who: Salla Heinonen
  • From: Köyliö, Finland
  • Fun fact: Salla is a cat person, and she has two cat-brothers, Harri and Sisu

Salla is originally from Köyliö, Finland, but her study path made her move to Jyväskylä where she studied to be a chemist in the University of Jyväskylä. Salla has previous experience in mining industry, metal analytics and inorganic chemistry and that’s why, when she got a job offer from EPSE she was very interested. That’s how she found her way to Ylöjärvi, where EPSE’s headquarters are located. Currently she has been working at EPSE for 3 years as a Laboratory Manager.

At EPSE, Salla is in charge of the laboratory’s operations and its development. She also works with developing of EPSE™ Method. Her workdays include meetings with EPSE staff or partners, making reports, planning and organizing different researches, evaluating test results, project research and administrative work.

Salla likes working at EPSE because she has a very diverse job description. She works closely together with other professionals working for EPSE like the Technical or Solutions Team. In her own words the best thing is that she gets to use her own knowledge and professionalism in different developments and projects. Salla also finds working with piloting to be interesting and she says it supports her own laboratory work and product development immensely.

We at EPSE are grateful for Salla’s work every day. Salla leads the Laboratory Team with grace and professionalism and makes sure the EPSE ™ Method is tailored to meet every one of our customers’ needs perfectly. She keeps surprising us with her great skills and knowledge both inside and outside of the laboratory. Let’s give a big thanks to Salla and the whole laboratory team for their hard work with EPSE ™ Method every day. And most importantly happy World Laboratory Day to our own laboratory professionals at EPSE and all laboratory professionals around the world!

Next week we are introducing another one of our team members. Stay tuned!
