Learning first aid on The World Day for Safety and Health at Work

April 28th is The World Day for Safety and Health at Work. We at EPSE celebrated the day appropriately, when laboratory and pilot workers were updating their first aid skills by attending to EA1 course. EPSE takes occupational safety seriously: we aim to minimize risks in work environments and consciously create a culture that promotes safety.

According to the UN Association of Finland, in 2003 the International Labor Organization (ILO) extended the Day of remembrance of victims of workplace accidents and diseases (28th of April) as World Day for Safety and Health at Work to raise awareness of the risks of unhealthy and dangerous working conditions worldwide. The purpose of the theme day is to remind that the occupational health culture around the world should respect the individual’s right to a safe and healthy work environment. Everyone, starting from individuals, employers and governments, can contribute to ensuring that all workers have a healthy and safe working environment that respects the rights, responsibilities and obligations of the individual and in which prevention of accidents and other health issues is key.
