EPSE and Samruk-Kazyna Ondeu sign a MoU to implement the Green Zone program

EPSE and its US affiliate EPSE Technology Inc. have signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kazakh state-owned Samruk-Kazyna Ondeu LLP company on Tuesday 28th October. The agreement covers the construction of Kazakhstan’s first Green Zone unit and includes an option for the implementation of five additional units, with a total value of approximately 200 million euros. Similar agreement was signed on Friday in Uzbekistan.

EPSE’s patented technology enables the recycling of industrial water and waste. Valuable and critical raw materials and rare earth metals are recovered from the waste, and the treated water is recycled back for industrial use.

The Green Zone program is part of Central Asia’s green transition. It supports development of sustainable industry, promotes responsible use of natural resources, and strengthens environmental protection. Both Central Asian countries, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, have a strong desire to modernize towards sustainability, and this is reflected in the mining industry in the adaptation of innovations and new technology.
